This garden for a young family was designed to complement a beautiful Victorian villa.  It combines a contemporary, curvilinear design with traditional materials, using randomly laid York stone paving and cobbles with brick to sit comfortably within a walled garden. A curving ‘conch’ wall intimately wraps the main dining area, placed to the rear to enjoy the evening sun.  It then hugs the curve of the lawn, tapering away, allowing plants retained at the higher level to spill down to join the main garden, visually uniting both levels.  Planting is soft and romantic with claret, soft pink and white English roses (not yet in bloom), lavenders and herbaceous planting in pink, claret, blue, purple and silver.  Delicate Victorian wirework rose arches accentuate the path as it swings towards the dining area and these are echoed with a wirework tree seat encircling an old chestnut tree.  Water gently gurgles into a lead cistern set in planting.
