Layers of wrapping and floating wildness

A busy author likes to write in her garden – or when the weather is inclement, in her studio, which is plunged into the garden and shrouded with planting. Trees must overhang, plants should burst from their allotted space and most of all, there should be a feeling of wildness and magic for people, birds and bees – all in a small, north London garden.

Raised planting beds are packed with trees and planting for foliage contrast and everchanging interest throughout the year. They wrap and the garden at different heights, giving a sense of movement, space and secrecy.

Shown in late summer and autumn.
